Our Staff

Bob Menchions, B.Sc. PT

Bob graduated from Dalhousie University in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy. Since then he has worked in a variety of orthopaedic clinical settings, primarily in private practice. He has taken many post-graduate courses and is looking forward to incorporating laser therapy into his practice.

Matthew Moore, B.Sc. Kin, AT, RMT

Matt graduated with a B.Sc. Specialized Honours Degree in Kinesology from York University where he also received a certificate in Athletic Therapy. He later attended the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy where he received a diploma in Massage Therapy. Matt has had training in swedish massage, stretching and strengthening techniques, manual therapies such as joint mobilization, as well as trigger point release, myofascial release, and activity specific rehabilitation to keep active people participating in their activity of choice.

Alyssa-Joy Spence, RMT

Alyssa-Joy graduated from Northumberland College in July of 2008. While in school she learned general Swedish massage as well as elements of sport massage, suikodo, and myofascial release.  She has participated in a multiple sclerosis clinic, sport clinic, and regular clinic, and has had the opportunity to treat a variety of people ranging from those with debilitating illnesses to professional athletes.  Alyssa-Joy is looking forward to working with such a talented team and exciting new technology

Janice Dawe, RN

Janice is a Graduate of the General Hospital School of Nursing. She has had over 25 years experience in acute and chronic care and community health in Newfoundland and Ontario. She has always had a strong interest in therapies that assist with pain control and is looking forward to working with this exciting new technology.

Christa Angell, D.Ac., Acupuncture

Christa is passionate about Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is a graduate of the TCM program at Compu College. This extensive 3-year program sets one of the highest standards for the Acupuncture profession and is affiliated with Grant McEwen College in Alberta. Since graduation, she has been practicing Acupuncture in Toronto and Halifax for over three years, working alongside Naturopathic Doctors, Chiropractors, Life Coach Therapists, and variety of other health professionals in the fight against chronic pain. Originally from Gander, Christa is happy to be back in Newfoundland. She has completed the Low-Intensity Laser Therapy program at Meditech International and is excited to incorporate laser therapy and laser acupuncture into her treatments.

Dr. Jason Lawlor, B.Sc., D.C.

Dr. Lawlor graduated from Memorial University in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa in 2001 with a Doctorate of Chiropractic. He has worked in chiropractic and rehabilitation clinics in both Iowa and Michigan and most recently owned and operated a clinic in Livonia, Michigan. He is currently working as a laser technician with Avalon Laser Health Clinic while working towards his Canadian Chiropractic certification and expects to be fully licensed by the fall of 2010.

Estelle Barry, M Cl Sc (PT), M C P A

Estelle Barry has enjoyed a varied career, initially as a physiotherapy officer in the Canadian forces, later as the working owner of a small, rural physiotherapy clinic in Nova Scotia. Most recently, she is partnering with her sister, Clare, to bring the BioFlex laser technology to St. John’s

Clare Barry, M. Ed., Manager Marketing and Education

A retired teacher, Clare has spent most of her professional career working with immigrants teaching English as a Second Language. She has a long-standing interest in health and wellness that has been strengthened by her exchange with students from all over the world. A strong believer in the need to take control of one’s own health, she is excited to be involved with her sister, Estelle, bringing the Bioflex laser technology to St. John’s.

Vanessa McDonald, Executive Assistant

Vanessa McDonald graduated with a Records and Information Management Diploma and also a Certificate in Business Administration from the College of the North Atlantic. She has experience working with Pharmacists and in a Law Firm setting and would like to upgrade her skills by completing the Office Administration, Medical program in the nearby future.

Missed Appointments
24 hour notice is required for cancellation of appointments. $25 will be charged for short notice cancellations and missed appointments.
